ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING DELIBERATIONS AND DECISIONS

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the over 70 members who attended the Association’s 50th AGM on 17th June, 2011 at Nairobi Serena Hotel’s Amani Room. During the occasion, a number of issues were deliberated on and key decisions made, highlights of which are given below.

The Association has continued to restructure its service delivery to members in light of the dynamic and increasingly competitive environment and it remains committed towards the persistent provision of services to members in order to improve your business operations and in the process increase profitability.

As we are all aware, membership is the mainstay of KAM. In this regard, I thank all members who have supported the organisation by paying up their subscriptions.  As at the moment, 423 members are paid up and 217 remain outstanding.  In order to continue operations at the Secretariat, I urge all those who have not paid up to do so urgently as this is the only way we shall ensure sustainability of the Association.  This will also enable them to continue enjoying services offered by KAM to its members.

This was the first AGM to be held after the development and approval of the Association’s 2011-2013 Strategic Plan – a Plan crafted at the end of last year which necessitated the development of a new organisational model to facilitate the most efficienct implementation of the Strategy. The new organisational structure is built around five core functions which will serve as a vehicle for implementing the new plan in the most efficient and effective manner. The five are:

  • KAM Consulting;
  • Membership Retention and Development;
  • Policy Research and Advocacy;
  • Communication and Publications; and
  • Finance and Administration.
