- Trade Promotion Committee
This Committee exists to:
- Provide strategic direction on trade matters
- Spearhead advocacy on trade matters
- Track, influence and participate in trade negotiations under COMESA, EAC, WTO, EU-ACP
- Promote exports of Kenyan manufactured products
- Monitor the removal of non-tariff barriers to trade
- Develop KAM position papers on trade matters
- Monitor trade facilitation in the country
- Monitor the implementation of trade agreements under COMESA, EAC, WTO, EU-ACP
- Network with trade related institutions
- Review and approve work plan for the Committee.
- Fiscal & Monetary Affairs Committee
This Committee exists to:
- Provide strategic direction on fiscal matters
- Spearhead advocacy on fiscal matters
- Discuss, refine and approve KAM Pre- and Post Budget proposals
- Harmonise KAM sector budget proposals
- Review Government policies on fiscal matters
- Develop KAM position papers on fiscal matters
- Provide arbitration between members on budget related issues
- Network with other organizations
- Review and approve work plan for the Committee
- Standards & Regulatory Affairs Committee
This Committee exists to:
- Provide strategic direction on environment, labour, Standards and Quality
- Spearhead advocacy on environment, labour, Standards and Quality
- Monitor the implementation of the Standards Act, Environmental Management and Co-ordination Act and Labour regulations
- Develop KAM position papers on environment, labour, Standards and Quality
- Collaborate with KEBS, NEMA, Ministry of Labour and Human Resource Development on regulations and policy implementation
- Review and approve work plan for the Committee
- Infrastructure Affairs Committee
This Committee exists to:
- Provide strategic direction on water, energy, roads, railways, telecommunications and Ports
- Spearhead advocacy on water, energy, roads, railways, telecommunications and Port issues
- Monitor and review the level of tariffs for water, energy, roads, railways, telecommunications and Ports.
- Monitor the performance of Ports
- Develop KAM position papers on infrastructure issues
- Monitor trade facilitation in the country
- Collaborate with the Central and local Governments and utility companies
- Review and approve work plan for the Committee
- Licensing & Security Affairs Committee
This Committee exists to:
- Provide strategic direction on licensing and security issues
- Spearhead advocacy on licensing and security
- Rationalise business licenses in collaboration with licensing bodies
- Review current business licensing regime
- Review current security situation in industrial zones
- Participate in community policing programmes
- Develop KAM position papers on licensing and security
- Collaborate with Local Authorities and law enforcement agencies
- Review and approve work plan for the Committee
- Membership Development & Communication
This Committee exists to:
- Provide strategic direction on Membership expansion with manufacturing value-add industries
- Monitor and review membership development strategy to ensure a 90% retention level
- Provide strategic direction on Public Relations and Communication strategies & activities
- Monitor & review strategy to ensure that 80% of information available at KAM is processed and disseminated timely to all stakeholders through appropriate media
- Provide direction on Chapter Development by strengthening those existing and setting up of new chapters where appropriate
