KAM has established five regional chapters at the Coast, Nyanza/Western, Nakuru, Eldoret and Athi River. As at January 2008, Nairobi had 454 members (79%) while the rest are spread out in the regional chapters. Regional chapters exist to develop strategie, prioritises and action plans to lobby for policy reform around such issues as infrastructure,security and local authorities among others.They also mobilize members for training, information sharing and capacity building in areas of need, cordinate membership recruitment and retention efforts, review progress and report to the Board. Chapters operate with an elected committee led by a chairman. Through support from the US-based Centre for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), KAM has established chapter offices in Kisumu, Mombasa, Nakuru an Eldoret since June as a way of strengthening chapters. The chapter officers give technical support to chapter committees through coordination of chapter activities including meetings, visiting members and recruitment of new members.
