KAM has organized a half day forum on Brand Protection and Anti-counterfeit measures to be held on 3rd March, 2010 from 8.30 am to 1.00 pm at Laico Regency Hotel.
Counterfeit goods and theft of Intellectual Property cost businesses millions of shillings annually. TheEast Africa region loses approximately US$ 500 million per annum on counterfeit goods. More than 30% of medicines sold in Kenya are fakes. Some companies have lost 70% of their market share in East Africa because of the counterfeits.
KAM has been at the forefront in advocating against this vice with the aim of discouraging and eventually eradicating it from Kenya. The Association is currently sensitising her members on their role and obligations towards assisting the newly established Anti-counterfeit Agency and law enforcers in the fight against counterfeits.
Topics to be Covered include:
ü Trademarks
