sectors
KAM members are classified into 12 key industrial sectors in addition to service sector and Affiliate Associations.
Sectors are classified by the type of raw materials companies import or the products they manufacture. This way, members under a particular sector form a cohesive group for collective negotiations when addressing issues or preparing common positions for collective bargains with relevant government authorities.
A sector may also have several sub-sectors depending on size, product range and the complexity of issues to be addressed. Sectors elect their own chairmen from among their members and are responsible for developing position papers with the help of a technical officer from the Secretariat.
Sectors are also responsible for compiling submissions for the national budget and post-budget proposals. The following is the distribution of members across the 14 sectors of KAM, but may be reviewed from time to time as may be directed by the Board.
